Kildare County Council invites applications from individual artists and/or collectives to the Kildare Arts Service First Fortnight Award for projects that address challenges and provoke conversation around mental health. Selected artists will present their work at an event in the Riverbank Arts Centre on 14 January 2022, as part of the First Fortnight Festival.

The Kildare Arts Service First Fortnight Award aims to support the development and presentation of new work in any artform that challenges the stigma attached to mental health. Applications to this award are welcome from Kildare-based individual artists and/or collectives with existing or ‘in development’ projects.

Applications for funding are available up to €3,000. Projects that consider the theme of this year’s First Fortnight Festival, Open, are particularly welcome.

Kildare Arts Service is committed to projects that Pay the Artist and projects that consider equality, inclusion, accessibility and diversity. Applications from artists who are representative of all Kildare’s communities are particularly welcome.
