St Francis Hospice Dublin

Poets of all ages are invited to participate in St Francis Hospice’s ‘Our Values in Verse’ poetry competition. Submissions of original poetry are sought which reflect or represent one or more of St Francis Hospice’s core values: dignity, respect, compassion, collaboration, excellence and kindness.

There are three categories for entry:

  • Primary School
  • Secondary School
  • Adults

Prizes
Within each category, several poems will be shortlisted. These poems will be printed and displayed throughout St Francis’ two hospice facilities in Dublin, Raheny and Blanchardstown. The shortlisted poets will each receive a prize hamper.

Within each category, one poem will be selected as overall winner. In addition to the poem being displayed in the Raheny and Blanchardstown hospices and a prize hamper, the winning poets will each receive a book token.

Our specialist palliative care service provides care to the 700,000 people living in North Dublin and surrounding counties. In 2020, we looked after nearly 1800 patients and their families.
