Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) County Council is seeking artists, creative and wellbeing facilitators / practitioners to work with residents in residential care settings and older people attending local day care services in dlr as part of the Cuairt agus Cultúr programme.

dlr Arts Office and dlr Libraries have collaborated on Cuairt agus Cultúr since 2018, an arts and culture programme with residential care settings based in dlr. For 2022, the remit of C & C will include day care centres for older people as well as residential care settings in the County and will be supported by dlr Age-Friendly Programme.

An artist / practitioner or group of artists / practitioners are sought to explore creativity and / or wellbeing with older people in either a residential or day service in the County. This can include but is not limited to visual art practice, music, storytelling, gardening, movement / dance, creative writing, photography, craftwork and wellbeing therapies.

This programme aims to nurture a meaningful and sustained creative engagement between an artist / practitioner or group of artists / practitioners and residents, day care centre attendees, families and staff of care settings within dlr County. Successful applicants will be matched to one local care setting.

This call out aims to support artists working in care settings, as well as to deepen the value of the arts and wellbeing in these settings.

Timeline
The timeline for engagement is October 2022–January 2023, subject to any prevailing public health guidelines. Upon agreement between all parties, this may be extended for further engagement in 2023.
