Drawing the Plants is an exhibition by artist Mary Lee Murphy, opening at University Hospital Galway on 4 February 2023 to coincide with World Cancer Day.
When Mary was faced with a serious health challenge she began to draw the plants in her garden. The exhibition comprises 23 of these drawings, brought together in a catalogue with an introduction by author Jo Nestor.
This exhibition is a tribute to people who are or have been affected by cancer in some way and also an appreciation of all the doctors, nurses and staff of University Hospital Galway. – Mary Lee Murphy
Drawing the Plants is presented by Saolta Arts, the dedicated arts service for Saolta University Health Care Group.
