All Irish Dance is a social enterprise tackling social isolation and loneliness by connecting people through céilí. All Irish Dance trains people with or without prior experience to lead inclusive adaptive céilí dance activities in their own local communities and/or care settings.

The Reels on Wheels programme was originally piloted in Limerick in 2022 with the support of Limerick Sports Partnership. Co-designed by wheelchair users for wheelchair users, this first-of-its-kind programme is currently available only in Limerick. Through All Irish Dance training programmes, that will change.

Wheelchair Céilí Dance Leader Training Programme
The pilot Wheelchair Céilí Dance Leader programme is a free training programme funded by Social Entrepreneurs Ireland.

The pilot training will enable All Irish Dance the opportunity to trial elements of both the “Introduction to Adaptive Céilí” and the Level 1 Adaptive Céilí Dance Leader Training programmes before these are launched in mid-April 2024.

Participating in the pilot will not certify the participant as an All Irish Dance Adaptive Céilí Dance Leader. However, successful applicants will be able to participate in these programmes free of charge. They will also receive exemptions due to their participation in the pilot. For example, our Level 1 programme will require two in-person training days but you would only be required to attend one of these.

The funding does not cover expenses for successful applicants to travel to Limerick but a light lunch on the in-person training day will be provided.
