Saolta Arts is currently accepting proposals for its 2024 – 2025 visual arts exhibition programme at University Hospital Galway. Group proposals are welcome.

The Arts Corridor hosts a rolling programme of exhibitions. Through open call and invitation, Saolta Arts provides opportunities for artists at all stages, including local community groups and early career artists, to showcase their work in their first solo shows. More established artists have been able to reach a wider audience through long-standing partnerships with Galway International Arts Festival and TULCA Festival of Visual Art.

As part of the exhibition programme, Saolta Arts is also interested in artists and curators who wish to engage audiences by including artist talks, workshops and other participative events during the exhibition.

When submitting a proposal, artists and curators should consider that Saolta Arts programmes work for an acute hospital setting with vulnerable people and this will be considered when selecting exhibitions.

All proposals will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Suitability for the hospital environment and hospital audience
  • Artistic merit
  • Fulfilment of the aims and objectives of Saolta Arts
  • Feasibility

Interested artists/curators can apply through the following link:

Deadline for applications: Friday 29 March 2024.
