The Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts Festival (NIMHAF) celebrates its 10th anniversary in May 2024. The festival aims to challenge the stigma associated with talking about our mental health and wellbeing, celebrating the significant role of our creativity, self-expression and the arts as a catalyst for change.

Each year, the festival presents a programme of varied, vivid arts events, exhibitions and showcases with a host of regional festival partners across arts and culture, education, community, health and wellbeing. This year’s theme is PAUSE, a time to stop, stand still, reflect upon the importance of our own and each other’s mental health and wellbeing.

The festival will be bookended by symposia, beginning in the city of Derry/Londonderry with a symposium hosted by the Mayor of Derry City & Strabane District Council and culminating in a final symposium in the City of Belfast on 19 May.
