About Helium Arts’ Creative Health workshops – now nationwide
Helium Arts is now offering its creative health programme of free in-person art workshops in Dublin for the very first time. The in-person workshops, which are also available online, are led by professional artists.
The workshops take place both in hospital and community settings, to give children and young people living with lifelong physical health conditions – who can often experience stigma, isolation, loneliness and anxiety – the opportunity to come together. Helium Arts uses creativity to inspire these children to feel more confident. By empowering them with tools such as friendship, community and new skills, they help these children to become more prepared and capable of overcoming adversity. The workshops are supported by on-site medical care and accessible to a variety of needs.
Supported conditions include diabetes, epilepsy, cystic fibrosis, cerebral palsy, allergies, heart conditions, asthma, spina bifida, juvenile arthritis, rare or complex conditions and many more.
Helium Arts has been running workshops in Cork, Limerick, and the Mid West region since 2019, before expanding to Galway and the West, as well as online. Their recent expansion to Dublin means their in-person workshops are now available nationwide, including for families, children, and young people living in Dublin and neighbouring counties. Additionally, their online offerings ensure that children can participate no matter where they are.
