Helium Arts invites applications from professional, multi-disciplinary visual artists to deliver their Creative Health Programme in Cork, Dublin, Galway and Limerick and surrounding counties as well as online.

Artists must have a strong collaborative and inclusive arts practice working with children and young people including children with disabilities. Selected artists will join Helium’s Artist Panel as Associate Artists and will be contracted on a project to project, freelance basis over the next two years.

Role Description
The role of Associate Artist is to deliver inspiring collaborative arts programmes which are responsive to the needs and vision of children and young people living with lifelong physical conditions and additional needs, including disabilities. Artists should have a genuine interest in building supportive relationships and a working understanding of inclusive arts practice relevant to the needs of participants, including a flexible approach to children and young people and how workshops are facilitated.

Training
Training and continued professional development will be provided, with up to three required training days. Training may also include artist shadowing opportunities as part of Helium’s spring 2025 programme. Successful applicants must complete the required training days to be eligible for freelance work in summer 2025.

Deadline for applications: Friday 3 January 2025, at 2pm.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an online interview and to attend an in-person interactive workshop in January and February.
