With humour and humility, The Tightrope Walker by Jenny Macdonald navigates a personal journey through the chaotic and profound territory of illness and recovery. It explores the grief inherent in a serious diagnosis, as well as the community and characters who share in the journey.
Written during Jenny’s time as writer in residence at the Irish Hospice Foundation (2022-2023), it is a testament to the care and connection we may find in challenging times.
Following powerful performances at Tallaght University Hospital and Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre, The Tightrope Walker returns to a theatre setting, as part of First Fortnight 2025, Ireland’s annual arts and mental health festival.
‘Thank you for the wonderful show. It has really inspired me to live every moment.’ – 2024 Audience Member
