As part of the Belfast School of Art 175 celebrations, Dr Val Huet, visiting professor for the MSc Art Psychotherapy programme, will deliver an in-person public lecture on Thursday 6 February.
Creative Health (also known as Arts in Health) is ‘the provision of a variety of arts experiences such as visiting artists, artists in residence, arts programming developed in partnership with community arts agencies, arts collections, and rotating arts exhibits in healthcare settings (arts in healthcare) and in public health (arts in community health).’
In the UK art, music, drama and dance therapies work in a wide range of contexts and services including the health service, voluntary sector, arts services and education.
One of the goals of this lecture is to discuss how creative health and public health research can contribute to a continuum of arts therapies practices serving people in need.
Dr Val Huet (PhD) is a qualified Art Therapist, Group Psychotherapist and Organisational Consultant and completed a PhD on art therapy groups for work-related stress.
This lecture will take place in the Enterprise Hub, Room BA-00-008, at the Belfast School of Art.
