Mission / Aims
Cork City Council develops supports with our partners, for arts organisations and groups in the city. Cork City Council values the arts, promoting and sharing this sense of worth with the wider civic community and also endeavouring to ensure access to quality arts experiences for all the citizens in Cork.
Areas of activities
We work with our partners to develop and deliver area-based quality Arts and Health programmes including the Helium Arts Creative Health Programme for youth and various programmes with Cork Healthy Cities. We also work with our partners to develop and deliver arts programmes for older people and support their access to the arts as audience members through Cork Cultural Companions. We continue to deliver arts for early years through our BEAG Early Years Arts Programme in partnership with Cork City and County Childcare, Cork County Council, Graffiti Theatre Company and the HSE. Activities include: · arts for early years in childcare contexts; · arts for older people in residential and non-residential care settings; · arts for children, youth, adults and older people in clinical, community health and social settings related to physical health as well as mental health and wellbeing.
