Mission / Aims

In line with the Community Healthcare East Healthy Ireland Plan 2018 – 2023, positive ageing action to “provide opportunities for older people to participate in arts, cultural, social and physical activity groups, and education programmes in day-care services, residential services and in the community” dlr Arts Office view the arts as an important service that contributes to the quality of life for those who live in, work in and visit the County. We aim to target those living with dementia and isolated older persons in particular to increase their engagement in quality arts participation.

Areas of activities

Creative collaborations between dlr Arts Office and services in the County, for example ALONE, Making Connections, Residential Care Settings for Older People and Day Services for Older People in the County. We work with our colleagues in dlr Age Friendly Programme and dlr Libraries in addition to artists specialising in collaborating with older people and people living with dementia. We are part of the Azure network.
