County Louth has developed an alliance of cultural programmes that support and deliver community arts and health projects, events and opportunities.
These partners in arts and health development are the Arts Office of County Louth (Create Louth), An Táin Arts Centre, Creative Spark, Dundalk Youth Centre, Louth County Council Library Service, Droichead Arts Centre, and Music Generation Louth.
The aim of the alliance is to promote community based access to arts interventions that examine and enhance human experiences. Of particular interest is the delivery of arts and health services that reflect the integrity of locality as a cultural orientation. Interaction, socialisation, expression and achievement are all proposed outcomes of an arts and health agenda within a community context.
Partners in arts and health development in Louth acknowledge the importance of skilled and committed arts in health practitioners in the successful planning and delivery of relevant and rewarding interventions.
It is anticipated that collaboration amongst partners will produce innovative expressions of arts and health engagement.
