The Creative Health Impact Framework has been created to support Voluntary, Community, and Social Enterprise (VCSE), arts, and cultural organisations in London to plan for, evidence and communicate the value of their work to health partners in relation to health inequalities and health improvement.

By demonstrating how creative health interventions fit within an integrated model of health improvement, the Framework strengthens the case for funding and reassures health partners when commissioning creative approaches to reducing inequalities and improving wellbeing.

Commissioned by London Plus and funded by The Greater London Authority, the Framework has been developed by creative health consultant Jane Willis in collaboration with VCSE, arts, cultural, and health partners from across South East London.

The Creative Health Impact Framework provides a set of tools to help organisations:

  • Plan creative health programmes that align with identified health needs.
  • Evidence impact using appropriate and proportional approaches to evaluation.
  • Communicate impact through compelling stories and case studies that capture short, medium, and long-term change.

Key tools in the Framework:

🔹 Creative Health Logic Model Template – Helps organisations design creative health programmes that align with identified health and wellbeing needs.

🔹 Health Outcomes and Impacts Guide – Maps outcomes and impacts aligned with NHS priorities.

🔹 Creative Health Evaluation Framework – Guides organisations on what to evaluate at each stage (outputs, intermediate outcomes, outcomes, and impacts) and suggests suitable evaluation methods.

🔹 Scaled Approach to Creative Health Evaluation – Recommends proportional evaluation approaches based on a project’s size and maturity.

🔹 Creative Health Case Study Template – Helps organisations turn evaluation findings into a clear, compelling story of impact.
