The Discover/Recover Theatre Project is a preventative mental health intervention led by Wexford Mental Health Association that seeks to increase mental health literacy and reduce stigma through education and awareness-raising. The project is a co-production, sharing the lived experience of people with mental health challenges via the professionally produced testimonial theatre performance, A Face in the Crowd, supported by a mental health educational workshop for young people. The aim of this independent evaluation by Just Economics was to test the intervention’s efficacy as a health promotion tool and whether there was an evidential basis for this approach to be more widely adopted.
