‘A national health service? Exploring how museums can improve our wellbeing’ is a one-day conference on 4 November 2017 marking the National Museum’s 20th anniversary at Collins Barracks, Dublin. Admission is free but places must be booked.
This conference will explore the social impact of museums and the role that they can play in the community.
Speakers include Laura Bedford of the National Alliance for Museums, Health & Wellbeing, UK; Professor Desmond O’Neill, Professor of Medical Gerontology, Trinity College Dublin and consultant geriatrician, Tallaght Hospital; Sharon Heal, Director of The Museums Association, UK; and Joe Caslin, street artist, illustrator and art educator.
The event will include Irish sign language interpreters.
